NFL Trade Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles Open to Trading Dallas Goedert
The Philadelphia Eagles' roster may look a lot different in the 2025 regular season. Speaking at the NFL Owners meetings, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni would not commit to tight end Dallas Goedert remaining on the team in the coming months.

“Right now he’s on our football team. And obviously, Dallas Goedert has meant a lot to us. We’ll see how that plays out. He’s a heck of a football player, heck of a leader.… https://t.co/5FXfQpA7yV
"Right now, he's on our football team," Sirianni said. "We'll see how that plays out."
The Eagles roster has already radically transformed following their triumphant win in Super Bowl LIX. They've parted with several prominent starters, including Milton Williams, Josh Sweat, Darius Slay, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, and Mekhi Becton.
Goedert, who has been with the Eagles since they drafted him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, would arguably be the most established Eagles veteran yet to leave the team this offseason.
Goedert remains a fine player, so the Eagles are unlikely to cut him outright. His 49.6 receiving yards per game and 9.5 yards per target in the regular season last year still constitute elite production at his position, and his 215 receiving yards in the 2024 postseason led all Eagles.
If anything, there's a case to be made that Goedert has been done a disservice by the Eagles' run-heavy approach and abundance of pass-catching talent. The Eagles were 32nd in pass attempts in 2024, even with star wide receivers A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith on their roster. Goedert might be significantly more productive in a system with more targets to spare.
Still only 30 years old, Goedert should have plenty of value around the league. If the Eagles are willing to trade him for a mid-round pick, teams should be lining up around the block to acquire him. Even if it requires a lucrative extension.
