NFL Trade Rumors: Miami Dolphins and Cornerback Jalen Ramsey Exploring Trade Options
The Miami Dolphins have another future Hall of Famer who could be on the move. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins and seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback have mutually agreed to explore trade options.
The #Dolphins and seven-time Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey are mutually set to explore trade options and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he played elsewhere in 2025, per me and @TomPelissero.

The Dolphins are in a tricky spot with Ramsey. They signed him to a three-year, $72.1 million extension in September, and he has nearly $49.5 million guaranteed remaining on his deal. Unloading him on another team would spare them paying all of it, but they would still absorb nearly $7 million in dead money this season with a post-June 1st trade.
Ramsey isn't the first Dolphins superstar linked to trade rumours this offseason. Eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyreek Hill has repeatedly hinted he wants out of Miami, and a trade could still materialize. If either Ramsey or Hill is moved in the near future, a fire sale for the Dolphins' aging elite talent could soon follow.
The Dolphins are coming off a disappointing 8-9 season, and they need to do some soul-searching. There's a case to be made that they can still compete when healthy: They're 17-11 with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on the field over the last two years. Still, if they expect Hill or Ramsey to fall off in a meaningful way in the near future, it may be better to sell high on them while they still have value around the league.
Ramsey should still be an enticing veteran for teams in the playoff hunt. He has allowed an excellent 6.6 yards per target and a 71.8 passer rating on throws in his direction over his two years with the Dolphins, and he has always had a knack for the big play. A team that believes itself capable of a Super Bowl push could benefit from his services, especially if they don't have to break the bank to acquire him.
The Dolphins initially acquired Ramsey from the Los Angeles Rams back in 2023 for a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long. Given that he's two years older and is set to turn 31 this season, the Dolphins would probably be lucky to land a similar return.
