NFL Rumors: Insider Reveals Who Browns Will Take With #2 Pick
According to The Athletic, the Browns identified Hunter as a top target early in the process and were recently in attendance at Colorado’s Pro Day, where general manager Andrew Berry closely observed his workout.
Adam Schefter added on The Adam Schefter Podcast that Hunter is now “the more likely pick at [No.] 2” and suggested the Browns were especially impressed by his elite movement skills and versatility.
Two-plus weeks ahead of the NFL Draft, there are signs that point to the Browns now using the No. 2 overall pick on Colorado standout Travis Hunter.

Hunter, who won the 2024 Heisman Trophy and Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, is considered one of the most unique prospects in recent memory. Across three college seasons at Jackson State and Colorado, he racked up over 2,100 receiving yards, 26 total touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
Former Tennessee Titans GM Ran Carthon called him “the biggest enigma this league has ever seen,” noting that Hunter could contribute immediately as a starting cornerback, return specialist, and occasional wide receiver.
While some believe the Browns could still consider Shedeur Sanders at quarterback, reports suggest the team prefers to avoid forcing a pick at that position and may instead address QB needs in later rounds.
If the Browns take Travis Hunter at 2 overall, he'd be the earliest-drafted...

...WR since Calvin Johnson (2nd overall in 2007)
...CB *ever*
Obviously, the whole point is that he can do both for you. But wheeew -- what a historic prospect!
Deion Sanders, who coached both Hunter and his son Shedeur at Colorado, predicted last week that “either Shedeur or Travis is going to Cleveland.”
But with Tennessee locked in on Cam Ward at No. 1, the path appears clear for the Browns to bring in Hunter.
Caesars now lists him as the betting favorite at -130 to go second overall, surpassing former frontrunner Abdul Carter. If the Browns follow through, Hunter would be one of the rare players drafted for two-way potential in the modern era—something that could make his jersey the fastest-selling in team history.
