NFL Rumors: Insider 'Guarantees' This Major Eagles Trade
On multiple platforms, including The Adam Schefter Podcast and NFL on ESPN, Schefter stated he "will guarantee" the Eagles make "a trade or two" during the draft.
With 20 draft picks over the next two years and a roster fresh off a Super Bowl win, the Eagles are loaded with capital but short on available roster spots—making a trade not just likely, but necessary.

"They can't have 20 players make their roster," Schefter said. "Their roster is too good and too deep to have all of these picks make their roster."
He believes GM Howie Roseman is poised to either move up the board for a specific target or package picks to acquire a veteran from a team unwilling or unable to re-sign him.
It’s a strategy Philadelphia has used effectively in the past, such as trading for A.J. Brown in 2022 and D’Andre Swift in 2023. Schefter also noted that a Day 3 trade for an established player fits the mold of what Roseman typically does.

The Eagles have eight picks in this year’s draft and an estimated 12 more in 2026, giving Roseman flexibility to act aggressively.
Philadelphia has made a habit of flipping surplus draft assets into immediate contributors, and with depth needs on defense following some offseason departures, a calculated move during the draft weekend seems inevitable.
“They will be moving and shaking, as they usually do in Philadelphia,” Schefter said, reinforcing the expectation that the Eagles will once again be one of the most active teams when the draft begins on April 24.
