Report: 4 Teams Linked To Cooper Kupp In Last 48 Hours

Former Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp is set to part ways with the Los Angeles Rams, and interest in the veteran wide receiver is growing rapidly.

Over the last 48 hours, four teams have emerged as potential landing spots:

New England Patriots

The Patriots need a reliable receiver, and Kupp is reportedly intrigued by the idea of playing in New England. According to the Boston Herald’s Andrew Callahan, Kupp has “shared that curiosity with some close to him.” His connection with former Eastern Washington teammate Kendrick Bourne, who has actively advocated for him to join the Patriots, adds to the possibility. With rookie quarterback Drake Maye expected to take the reins, Kupp could provide a dependable target in an offense that has struggled to find a true No. 1 receiver.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are entering a new era after moving on from DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, leaving Jaxon Smith-Njigba as the lone proven receiver. With cap space to spend, Seattle is a logical fit for Kupp, who grew up in Yakima, Washington. Seattle Sports’ Brock Huard called him “a great fit” for new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak’s system, which emphasizes ball control and precise route running. The Seahawks have been linked to Kupp if he is released, as his $20 million salary remains a hurdle for any potential trade.

Detroit Lions

The Lions have the second-best betting odds to land Kupp, according to DraftKings. Their interest dates back to last season when teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers, reportedly inquired about Kupp’s availability but weren’t offering much in return. With an elite offense led by Jared Goff, Detroit could see Kupp as a valuable addition to an already strong receiving corps. His ability to work underneath and complement speedster Jameson Williams could make him an ideal target for a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are “certainly very in the mix,” according to NFL insider Benjamin Allbright. Kupp’s connection to new Dallas receivers coach Junior Adams, who coached him at Eastern Washington, adds intrigue. With CeeDee Lamb needing a veteran counterpart, Kupp could bring experience to the Cowboys' offense. His injuries are a concern, but as Kupp put it, “The way I see myself is I’m ascending, even if people on the outside say I’m descending.” If he truly has something left in the tank, Dallas could be an appealing destination.
