NFL Rumors: Stefon Diggs Could Be Headed To Intriguing Destination

The Green Bay Packers have emerged as a potential landing spot for veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs as they continue to explore ways to bolster their offense.

With Christian Watson’s injury leaving a gap in their receiving corps, the Packers are reportedly considering Diggs, who is coming off a torn ACL that ended his 2024 season with the Houston Texans after just seven games.

Despite the injury, Diggs remained productive, hauling in 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns. "Diggs might not be a true No. 1 receiver anymore, but the Packers should still be intrigued by his availability," wrote Jacob Camenker of USA Today, noting that his versatility could complement Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs in Green Bay's offense.

The key question for the Packers is whether Diggs' price aligns with their plans. Spotrac projects his market value at $13.7 million per season, which could be a sticking point given the Packers’ measured approach to free agency so far.

Green Bay reportedly explored signing Cooper Kupp before he landed a three-year, $45 million deal with Seattle, so it's possible they could negotiate a short-term deal with Diggs.

If the two sides can agree on a contract, the Packers would be adding a veteran presence who can still stretch the field and provide quarterback Jordan Love with a proven target.

At the same time, the Packers are working through a potential trade of cornerback Jaire Alexander, who could be on the move before the draft.

Alexander's contract situation has made his future uncertain, with reports suggesting the Packers are seeking trade partners.

If Green Bay moves on from Alexander, they could redirect some of that cap space toward signing Diggs, reinforcing the idea that the team is still looking to make some big moves ahead of the 2025 season.
