BREAKING: Seahawks Trade DK Metcalf To Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a major move to bolster their receiving corps, acquiring star wide receiver D.K. Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks.

The deal sends a 2025 second-round pick to Seattle in exchange for the Pro Bowl playmaker.

This comes after reports that the Seahawks lowered their asking price, moving away from demanding a first-round pick. The trade gives Pittsburgh the true No. 1 receiver it has been missing, addressing a position that was a clear weakness last season.

Metcalf, who recently requested a trade, has agreed to a five-year, $150 million contract extension with the Steelers, according to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz.

Some reports indicate the deal is structured as a four-year, $132 million extension that will keep him in Pittsburgh through 2029.

Either way, it’s a massive financial commitment that solidifies him as a centerpiece of the team’s offense. The 27-year-old wideout is coming off a strong 2024 season with 992 receiving yards, 15.0 yards per catch, and five touchdowns.

For Pittsburgh, this move ends a frustrating search for an elite receiver after missing out on trades for Brandon Aiyuk, Cooper Kupp, and Davante Adams last season.

General manager Omar Khan had to settle for Mike Williams, whose tenure didn’t go as planned. Now, the Steelers have one of the league’s most dynamic receiving duos, pairing Metcalf with George Pickens.

With a revamped passing attack, Pittsburgh is better positioned to compete in the AFC as they look to build on last season’s playoff push.
