NFL Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Jaire Alexander

The Green Bay Packers are exploring trade options for cornerback Jaire Alexander after another injury-plagued season.

According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, the team has already engaged in discussions, weighing the financial benefits of moving on from the two-time Pro Bowler. Alexander’s talent remains undeniable, but he has played just 14 games over the past two seasons, and his $25 million cap hit for 2025 makes him a difficult long-term commitment.

While Green Bay could attempt to restructure his contract, trading him would free up cap space and bring in valuable draft capital. Given the league-wide demand for top-tier cornerbacks, multiple teams are emerging as potential landing spots.

One of the most logical destinations is the Las Vegas Raiders, who have the cap flexibility to absorb Alexander’s contract and a pressing need at cornerback.

With Nate Hobbs and other key defensive backs set to hit free agency, Alexander would give the Raiders a true CB1 to strengthen their defense.

The Atlanta Falcons also make sense as a trade partner, as they need a high-end corner to pair with A.J. Terrell. With former Packers defensive backs coach Jerry Gray on staff, Atlanta could provide Alexander with a familiar system, easing his transition.

However, the Falcons would likely need to restructure his contract to make the numbers work.

The Indianapolis Colts are another team that could be in the mix, as new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo looks to improve a secondary that lacked consistency in 2024.

“If the Colts decide to trade, it will cost them quite a bit,” wrote Drake Wally of Sports Illustrated, but the move would secure a proven No. 1 cornerback despite his recent injury concerns.

Other teams, such as the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, may also explore the possibility of acquiring Alexander, but financial constraints and draft capital considerations could limit their pursuit.
