NFL Rumors: Proposed Trade Sends Davante Adams To Cowboys

Bleacher Report’s Maurice Moton has proposed a blockbuster trade idea that could send six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams to the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.

The deal would involve the Cowboys trading a third- and fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft to the New York Jets for Adams, who joined the Jets in 2024 to reunite with Aaron Rodgers.

With Rodgers’ future uncertain and the Jets potentially pivoting toward a rebuild under new leadership, Adams could be on the move.

Dallas, with its stable quarterback in Dak Prescott and a dynamic playmaker like CeeDee Lamb, presents an attractive landing spot for the star receiver.

Moton noted that Adams has previously compared Lamb to himself, which could make the pairing even more appealing.

The addition of Adams would give the Cowboys a formidable receiving duo and significantly bolster their offense as they adjust to a new coaching staff.

Moton wrote, “Cowboys owner Jerry Jones may be open to a splashy trade to build around Prescott and find a complement to Lamb in the passing game.”

While Adams’ $140 million contract through 2026 poses financial challenges, Moton suggests Dallas could rework the deal to fit their cap structure.

The proposed trade package mirrors the conditional third-round pick the Jets gave to the Las Vegas Raiders for Adams, making it a reasonable price for a player of his caliber.

If the Cowboys pull off the deal, it would not only solidify their status as NFC contenders but also provide Prescott with a game-changing weapon to elevate their playoff hopes.
