Coen’s offensive pedigree made him an ideal candidate for the Jaguars, who are looking to rebound from a disappointing 4-13 season.
As Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator, Coen led a top-four unit that averaged 29.5 points per game and helped Baker Mayfield achieve career highs in passing yards, touchdowns, and completion rate.
Owner Shad Khan’s decision to overhaul the leadership structure by parting ways with Baalke was key in securing Coen, whose vision aligns with the team’s goal of building a high-powered offense around young star Trevor Lawrence.

With his reputation as one of the NFL’s brightest offensive minds, Coen brings a proven ability to develop quarterbacks and design dynamic game plans.
“We’re building something special here,” Coen said in a statement. “This team and this city deserve a winner, and I’m excited to get to work with Trevor and the entire organization to make that happen.”
