Washington Commanders Get Concerning Update On Marshon Lattimore
Acquired in a high-profile trade from the New Orleans Saints on November 5, the four-time Pro Bowler has yet to make his debut due to a lingering hamstring injury.
While Lattimore participated in limited practices this week, head coach Dan Quinn confirmed he is doubtful to play, emphasizing the importance of long-term health over short-term gain.
“We’re going to make all decisions to protect the team first,” Quinn stated. “It’s good to have him back out there—you can feel his energy—but we want to make sure he’s 100 percent.”

Lattimore’s absence is a significant blow for the Commanders, who have dropped three straight games after a promising 7-2 start.
Currently holding the NFC’s seventh playoff seed, Washington’s defense has struggled to contain opponents during this losing streak, and Lattimore’s presence was expected to provide much-needed stability in the secondary.
With a Week 14 bye approaching, Quinn hinted the team might sit Lattimore to ensure he is fully ready for the final playoff push.
“There might be some incentive to sit him out even if he’s close,” noted Commanders insider JP Finlay. The team’s upcoming schedule includes crucial matchups against NFC contenders like the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, and New Orleans Saints.

The Commanders’ challenges are compounded by the absence of running back Austin Ekeler, who has been ruled out with a concussion.
The pressure now falls on rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels to lead the team back on track against a Titans team poised to exploit Washington’s depleted roster.
While Lattimore’s debut is eagerly anticipated, Quinn noted the importance of patience. “We’ve got a pretty strong process to go through,” he said, adding, “Having Marshon healthy and ready for the stretch run is our priority.”
