Report: 2 Teams Named "Most Likely" To Sign Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones, recently waived by the New York Giants, is set to become a free agent and is drawing significant interest from several playoff-bound teams.

The Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings have emerged as the leading contenders for the former first-round pick, with both organizations offering competitive rosters and systems well-suited to his skill set.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported, “The Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings are two of the likeliest teams to land free-agent quarterback Daniel Jones,” emphasizing Jones’ preference for joining a team with playoff aspirations.

With his release marking an opportunity for a fresh start, Jones is expected to finalize his decision after evaluating Week 12 results.

The Ravens appear to be an ideal fit, with offensive coordinator Todd Monken’s system emphasizing mobility and versatility in quarterbacks.

Jones would provide valuable depth behind Lamar Jackson, potentially supplanting Josh Johnson as the primary backup.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport highlighted Baltimore’s appeal, noting, “Jones could thrive in an offense that values his athleticism and offers a chance to play meaningful football deep into the season.” The Ravens’ strong Super Bowl aspirations and ability to rehabilitate Jones’ career make them a compelling option.

Meanwhile, the Vikings present an opportunity for Jones to work with head coach Kevin O’Connell, whose quarterback-friendly system could elevate his game.

While Sam Darnold remains the starter, Jones could be groomed as a bridge option or valuable depth in Minnesota’s playoff push.
