According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the Panthers are “really just trying to figure out [Young’s] value,” with teams around the league eager for a shot to “revamp him and give him some life.”
Young’s NFL journey has been rocky, with a 59.4 passer rating, two touchdowns, and five interceptions in five games, prompting head coach Dave Canales to bench him early in favor of veteran Andy Dalton.
However, with Dalton sidelined by a thumb injury, Young will start again in Week 9, possibly giving interested teams a closer look at his potential.

The decision to showcase Young is reportedly influenced by mounting tensions within the Panthers organization, with some sources suggesting Young was frustrated over his benching and that his relationship with Canales is strained.
Russini’s report adds to speculation that the Panthers are unsure about Young’s future as their franchise quarterback, particularly given the team’s 1-7 record.
While Canales hasn’t labeled Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints as a "redemption" opportunity, it’s seen as a chance for Young to display his skill set and spark more trade interest, as some believe he could flourish in a system better suited to his strengths.

The New York Giants have also been mentioned as a potential suitor, with ESPN’s Dan Graziano suggesting that “a fourth-round pick might be enough to sway Carolina.”
