NFL Trade Rumors: Marshon Lattimore Drawing Lots Of Interest

As the NFL trade deadline approaches, New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore has emerged as a hot commodity, with several contenders vying for his services.

Amid a disappointing 2-7 season and the recent firing of head coach Dennis Allen, the Saints are reportedly open to moving veteran players, especially those with substantial cap hits.

Trading Lattimore, a four-time Pro Bowler, could help New Orleans address future cap concerns, shedding $16 million in cash obligations for next season, although it would leave a $20.63 million cap charge in 2025.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Saints have “received calls” about Lattimore, signaling interest from multiple teams eager to add a top-tier cornerback.

Among the interested teams, the Washington Commanders and Kansas City Chiefs are seen as front-runners.

The Commanders, off to an impressive 7-2 start, view Lattimore as an ideal addition for a deep playoff run, particularly given his manageable $1.21 million salary in 2024.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs, dealing with a recent injury to cornerback Jaylen Watson, see Lattimore as a perfect pairing with Trent McDuffie to solidify their secondary for a potential Super Bowl push.

"The idea of a Lattimore and McDuffie link-up is enough to make Chiefs fans feel giddy,” noted a report from the Irish Star US.

Despite Lattimore’s recent injuries and lack of interceptions this season, his strong track record and career total of 15 picks make him an attractive option for teams looking to bolster their defenses.
