NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers Reveals 2025 Playing Plans
The 40-year-old quarterback, who signed with the Jets in a high-profile trade from the Green Bay Packers in 2023, missed nearly all of last season due to an Achilles injury suffered in his debut.
This year, while managing to stay on the field, Rodgers has faced one of the toughest statistical stretches of his career, posting a 62.4% completion rate, 15 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions.
Despite these struggles, Rodgers confirmed his commitment to another season, saying, "I think so, yeah," when asked about his plans for 2025. He emphasized that this year’s disappointments have not negatively affected his future ambitions.

Rodgers has also been vocal in his support for interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich, who took over after Robert Saleh’s midseason dismissal.
Calling Ulbrich a “leader of men,” Rodgers praised his back-to-basics approach, which includes increased physical practices aimed at tackling the Jets’ defensive issues.
“He’s an NFL head coach, whether it’s here moving forward or down the line,” Rodgers noted, noting his respect for Ulbrich’s leadership and signaling his confidence in the team’s direction under him.
Despite the team’s struggles, Rodgers remains optimistic, saying, “The verdict is still not out on this season yet,” as he looks forward to helping turn things around with Ulbrich and his teammates.
Under contract with the Jets through 2025, Rodgers will carry a $23.5 million cap hit next year, and with a no-trade clause, his decision to return largely rests in his own hands.
While none of his salary beyond this season is guaranteed, he appears ready to keep working toward the Jets’ playoff hopes.
