NFL Trade Rumors: Rams Give Player Permission To Seek Trade

The Los Angeles Rams have granted cornerback Tre'Davious White permission to explore trade options ahead of the NFL’s November 5 deadline, acknowledging his desire for more playing time.

White, 29, joined the Rams this offseason on a one-year, incentive-heavy deal after recovering from Achilles surgery.

Initially thrust into a starting role due to injuries in the secondary, White played in the first four games but has been inactive for the last three following Darious Williams’ return from injured reserve.

With a healthier defensive rotation in place, White's opportunities have diminished, prompting his request for a potential move.

Head coach Sean McVay praised White’s professionalism throughout the process, saying, “He wants an opportunity to be able to compete, and we love him here. But if he and his agent want to explore other options, we respectfully understand that.”

While the Rams are open to keeping White for depth, McVay made it clear that the team wants to support his pursuit of a more prominent role elsewhere if it benefits both parties.

“If you saw the way he’s practiced, the way he’s been a pro in every sense of the word, you’d understand how tough this situation is for him,” McVay added.

Despite White's All-Pro pedigree, his recent injury history and limited playtime could affect trade interest.

However, McVay emphasized that the Rams will work with White to find the best possible outcome, whether that’s a trade or retaining him on the roster.

"If there’s a better situation that he deems appropriate for himself, we understand and support that," McVay noted, adding, "If he ends up staying here, I’ll certainly be happy about that."
