NFL Trade Rumors: Jets Might Have To Trade Wide Receiver In Davante Adams Trade

Mike Williams is quickly emerging as a prime trade candidate for the New York Jets, particularly with the team’s pursuit of Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Williams, who signed a one-year, $15 million deal after being cut by the Los Angeles Chargers and coming off a torn ACL, has had a solid start to the season, with eight catches for 120 yards through four games.

However, the Jets may need to move him to clear both cap space and a roster spot for Adams, whose reunion with quarterback Aaron Rodgers could significantly elevate their offense.

According to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, Williams is the "most likely player to be traded" if Adams joins the Jets.

Adams’ long-standing connection with Rodgers—dating back to their prolific partnership in Green Bay—makes him a priority target for the Jets, as they aim to make a serious postseason push.

If Adams arrives, Williams could be the odd man out despite his encouraging early-season performances. The Jets' offense, currently ranked 18th in passing, would benefit from the instant chemistry between Rodgers and Adams, leaving Williams as a valuable trade asset for other teams seeking a veteran receiver.

As trade talks for Adams heat up, multiple teams have shown interest in acquiring Williams.
