NFL Trade Rumors: Intriguing Update In Davante Adams Trade Drama

The Las Vegas Raiders are pushing to finalize a trade for star wide receiver Davante Adams, aiming to complete the deal within the next 48 hours, according to multiple reports.

After Adams requested a trade, tensions between him and the franchise reached a breaking point, with ESPN’s Adam Schefter noting that Raiders owner Mark Davis is now leading the charge to move on from the 31-year-old receiver.

Despite initial reluctance to part ways with their top offensive weapon, the team has shifted its stance and is actively shopping Adams, hoping to receive at least a second-round pick in return.

However, insiders suggest the final compensation may land closer to a third-rounder.

Adams has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury but is reportedly eager to move on, eyeing the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints as his preferred destinations.

Both teams offer Adams the chance to reunite with former quarterbacks—Aaron Rodgers in New York and Derek Carr in New Orleans—with whom he had successful stints in Green Bay and Las Vegas.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic emphasized the urgency of the situation, reporting that “the Raiders want this deal done soon,” with the Jets’ financial flexibility giving them a slight edge over the cap-strapped Saints.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have also emerged as a viable option, while other teams like the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs remain in the background.

Time is ticking for Las Vegas as the NFL trade deadline approaches, and with Adams still under contract through 2026, the Raiders are keen to clear over $19 million in cap space by moving him.

The team is unwilling to retain any of Adams' salary, a factor that could influence where the star receiver ends up.
