NFL Trade Rumors: Chiefs Eyeing Trade For Another Player

The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, standing at 7-0, are eyeing one more pivotal trade as they push toward a historic Super Bowl three-peat.

After strengthening their roster with veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans and pass-rusher Josh Uche from the New England Patriots, the Chiefs’ front office, led by GM Brett Veach, is now focused on the cornerback market.

This urgency follows the loss of starting corner Jaylen Watson to a season-ending broken tibia and fibula, leaving Kansas City’s secondary shorthanded.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Veach is “monitoring” the market for potential defensive reinforcements as Kansas City prepares for the season’s crucial stretch.

One notable target is New Orleans Saints’ four-time Pro Bowler Marshon Lattimore, who would bring elite coverage skills to Kansas City’s depleted secondary.

FanSided’s Kinnu Singh highlighted Lattimore’s potential impact, noting that the Chiefs “are well within reason to believe in a three-peat,” and adding that Lattimore “could stabilize Kansas City's secondary.”

Despite dealing with a hamstring injury, Lattimore has allowed just a 69.1 quarterback rating when targeted and remains one of the NFL's top cover corners.

The Saints, who are in a challenging cap situation and sit at a struggling 2-6, may be open to moving Lattimore if the Chiefs are willing to meet a high asking price.

Should Kansas City decide against a blockbuster trade for Lattimore, they may pursue more affordable options, like former Chiefs Marcus Peters or Steven Nelson, both of whom would bring experience without long-term cap implications.
