NFL Trade Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For Cooper Kupp

According to Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Commanders are three potential landing spots for Cooper Kupp as the Nov. 5 trade deadline approaches.

The Rams are reportedly open to moving Kupp and willing to take on some of his 2024 salary to facilitate a deal, seeking a second-round pick or a similar package in return.

Despite Kupp’s recent injury history and $24 million cap hit next season, his ability to create separation and move the chains makes him an appealing target for contending teams.

The Buccaneers are particularly motivated, given Chris Godwin’s season-ending injury and Mike Evans’ lingering hamstring issues.

Currently tied for the NFC South lead, Tampa Bay could view Kupp as a key piece for their playoff push, potentially offering a 2024 third- and fifth-round pick.

Ballentine suggests, “Kupp’s experience in offensive coordinator Liam Coen's system would make for a seamless fit,” making him an ideal replacement to stabilize the receiving corps and provide Baker Mayfield with a reliable target.

The 49ers and Commanders are also in the mix. San Francisco is facing a depleted receiving corps following Brandon Aiyuk’s ACL tear and could offer a 2025 second-round pick along with rookie receiver Jacob Cowing to sweeten the deal.

Meanwhile, the Commanders are off to a surprising 5-2 start under rookie QB Jayden Daniels and could pair Kupp with Terry McLaurin to bolster their passing attack.

Ballentine notes that Washington’s projected $123 million in cap space next offseason gives them flexibility to absorb Kupp's salary, making them a strong candidate to offer a 2025 third-round pick in exchange for immediate cap relief for the Rams.

After a strong showing from the Rams' offense on Thursday night, however, the team may very well change their mind about trading their star receiver.
