NFL Rumors: Raiders Owner Addresses Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors

Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis recently put an end to swirling rumors about the potential trade of star defensive end Maxx Crosby following the team's decision to trade wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets.

With the Raiders seemingly shifting direction, speculation had grown that the team might consider dealing Crosby as part of a broader rebuild.

However, Davis quickly dismissed any such talk, saying, "It’s unfortunate today, but there’s so much outside chatter that is not true. It’s just not happening," according to The Athletic.

Crosby, who is under contract through 2026, is widely regarded as one of the NFL's premier pass rushers and a cornerstone of the Raiders' defense.

Despite the value he could fetch in a trade, Davis emphasized that even a package involving multiple first-round picks wouldn't be enough to make the team consider parting ways with him.

"He’s the heart and soul of the franchise," Davis stated, making it clear that while the team may be retooling, Crosby remains untouchable. ESPN’s Adam Schefter had reported earlier in the season that a team inquired about Crosby, but the Raiders' asking price was so high that it effectively shut down any potential deal.

While the trade of Adams sparked questions about the Raiders' long-term strategy, Davis's strong words reflect the organization’s commitment to building around key players like Crosby.

The Pro Bowl pass rusher, who has expressed his desire to be a "Raider for life," remains a critical part of the team's future. "You know where I want to be," Crosby said earlier this month, further reaffirming his loyalty to the franchise.
