NFL Rumors: Bill Belichick Rips Raiders Asking Price For Davante Adams
The Raiders are reportedly seeking a second-round pick for Adams, which Belichick believes is far too steep given the circumstances.
“Not for a second-round pick, which supposedly is what they’re asking for. I don’t see how anybody is going to give up a second-round pick for him,” Belichick said during an interview with Underdog Fantasy.
He emphasized that for such a price, teams would need to believe Adams could instantly turn them into Super Bowl contenders, particularly given his significant salary and recent injury concerns.

Belichick also pointed out that the Raiders have mishandled the situation by waiting too long to explore trade options.
"This wasn’t a big secret, this storm’s been brewing for a while," he noted, adding that Las Vegas should have addressed the issue before the season started, instead of letting it disrupt their campaign.
Adams has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, further complicating the Raiders' leverage in trade talks. The combination of his injury, high salary, and the team’s reluctance to lower their asking price makes finding a trade partner more difficult.

With Adams linked to teams like the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints, Belichick suggested the Raiders may need to lower their expectations if they want to move the star receiver.
“The longer you put it off, the harder it is to get anything done,” Belichick remarked, warning that the Raiders' current approach risks reducing Adams’ trade value and limiting their return.
