BREAKING: DeAndre Hopkins Traded To Super Bowl Contender

The Kansas City Chiefs have completed a trade with the Tennessee Titans to acquire veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

The deal, reported by NFL insiders Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, sends a conditional fifth-round pick to Tennessee, which could escalate to a fourth-rounder based on Hopkins' performance.

The Titans will retain part of Hopkins' salary, making the trade financially feasible for the cap-strapped Chiefs. Kansas City sought help at receiver following season-ending injuries to Rashee Rice, preseason surgery for Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, and a hamstring injury sidelining JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, joins a Chiefs team looking to maintain its undefeated 6-0 record while chasing a third consecutive Super Bowl title.

Despite recovering from a partially torn MCL, Hopkins has posted 15 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown in six games this season.

"He’s not here to be a savior, but he’s a guy who can step in and make plays,” one team source said. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed confidence in the addition, noting, “Adding a talent like DeAndre only makes us better.”

The Chiefs have a history of making midseason moves to bolster their receiving corps, as evidenced by the successful trades for Kadarius Toney in 2022 and Mecole Hardman in 2023—both of whom contributed to Super Bowl victories.

With Hopkins’ arrival, head coach Andy Reid expects him to provide a reliable presence alongside rookie speedster Xavier Worthy and tight end Travis Kelce.
