Top 5 Players Most Likely To Be Traded Entering Week 2

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report has highlighted the top NFL trade candidates entering Week 2 of the 2024 season, identifying players who could be on the move due to contract disputes, performance issues, or team needs.

As teams evaluate their rosters after Week 1, several high-profile names have emerged as potential trade targets who could provide immediate value to contending franchises.
  1. Haason Reddick, EDGE, New York Jets: Reddick tops the list, with his contract standoff making him a prime trade candidate. After four consecutive seasons with double-digit sacks, teams like the Arizona Cardinals, where Reddick began his career, or the Detroit Lions, who need a complement to Aidan Hutchinson, could pursue the elite pass-rusher.
  2. Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, New York Giants: Once a rising star, Ojulari's role has diminished in the Giants' defense due to injuries and inconsistent performance. Teams such as the Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals, both in need of pass-rushing help, might take a chance on Ojulari's upside.
  3. Budda Baker, S, Arizona Cardinals: Despite his recent pay bump, Baker’s previous trade request and the Cardinals' potential struggles could lead to a move. His leadership and playmaking ability would be valuable for teams like the Detroit Lions or Washington Commanders, who need secondary help.
  4. Darius Slayton, WR, New York Giants: Slayton has consistently produced over 700 receiving yards in four of five seasons, but with a diminished role in the Giants' offense, teams like the Los Angeles Rams or Pittsburgh Steelers could view him as a solid addition for receiver depth.
  5. Robert Woods, WR, Houston Texans: The veteran receiver has taken on a smaller role in Houston’s offense and could be expendable. A reunion with the Los Angeles Rams or a move to the Atlanta Falcons, both of which need experienced receiver depth, is possible.
