NFL Trade Rumors: Justin Fields Names 3 Teams That Were "Interested" In Trading For Him

Justin Fields, now the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, recently shared on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Football podcast that three teams—the Las Vegas Raiders, Baltimore Ravens, and Los Angeles Chargers—had expressed interest in trading for him before he landed in Pittsburgh.

Fields explained that while the offers were tempting, he didn’t want to join a team with an established quarterback.

"They already have solidified quarterbacks there," Fields said of the Ravens and Chargers, referring to Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert.

Though the Raiders were more open to offering him a starting role, Fields ultimately felt Pittsburgh was the best fit for his career.

The Steelers acquired Fields in a surprising move, sending a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick to the Chicago Bears.

If Fields plays over 51% of the team's snaps this season, the pick will escalate to a fourth-rounder, a scenario that now seems inevitable given his role as the starting quarterback.

Fields has already made a significant impact, leading Pittsburgh to a 3-0 start while completing 73.3% of his passes for 518 yards, two touchdowns, and adding another score on the ground.

Steelers fans have quickly embraced him, and his early success has justified the move.

Omar Khan, the Steelers' general manager, was instrumental in securing Fields despite interest from other teams.

Fields explained that Pittsburgh provided him with the clearest path to playing time, a factor that influenced his decision to join the team.

"It just felt right," Fields said of choosing the Steelers, and his strong start has confirmed that Pittsburgh is the right place for him as he looks to solidify his future in the NFL.
