NFL Rumors: Travis Kelce Reveals How Many More Years He Has Left To Play

Travis Kelce, entering his 12th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs, has shared insights into his future, revealing that he envisions playing for at least two more "good years" before considering retirement.

The 34-year-old tight end, who signed a two-year, $34.25 million contract extension in April 2024, expressed to head coach Andy Reid and general manager Brett Veach that, while he still loves the game, he's mindful of the toll football has taken on his body after 11 grueling seasons.

The extension, which runs through the 2025-2026 season, makes Kelce the highest-paid tight end in the league for the first time, solidifying his importance to the Chiefs' offense.

Though Kelce's future in football has no definitive endpoint, he has acknowledged that retirement could be on the horizon as he approaches his mid-30s.

Last season, he fell short of the 1,000-yard mark for the first time since 2015, recording 93 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns.

Despite this, his playoff performance was nothing short of spectacular, with 32 receptions for 355 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Chiefs secure their second consecutive Super Bowl title.

Kelce has admitted the challenges of managing injuries and staying at peak performance, but his passion for football keeps him driven to play "until the wheels fall off."

As Kelce approaches his 35th birthday in October 2024, he remains a key part of the Chiefs' quest for an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl win.

While he's started to think about life after football, with media opportunities like his popular podcast alongside his brother Jason, his focus remains on helping Kansas City stay at the top of the NFL.

With at least two more seasons of elite play in mind, Kelce has hinted that his journey may conclude after the 2025 season, but for now, he's fully committed to chasing more championships with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
