REPORT: Miami Dolphins Sign Pro-Bowl Quarterback

The Miami Dolphins have signed Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

This move comes in the wake of starter Tua Tagovailoa being placed in concussion protocol after sustaining a head injury in last week’s loss to the Buffalo Bills.

With Tagovailoa expected to miss at least one game, the Dolphins turned to Huntley to support backup Skylar Thompson as they prepare for a critical matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.

Huntley, 26, brings valuable experience to Miami, having served as Lamar Jackson’s backup over four seasons in Baltimore.

Despite going undrafted out of Utah in 2020, Huntley earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2022 and has started nine career games, including one playoff appearance.

Over his career, Huntley has completed 64.6 percent of his passes, thrown for eight touchdowns, and added mobility with his ability to make plays on the ground.

After a brief stint with the Cleveland Browns in 2024, Huntley rejoined the Ravens' practice squad before the Dolphins signed him this week.

With Miami off to a tough 0-2 start and Tagovailoa's return uncertain, Huntley’s arrival provides a reliable option as the team looks to stay competitive in the AFC East.

While Thompson is expected to start against the Seahawks, Huntley’s experience could see him step into a larger role as the season progresses, giving the Dolphins a potential boost as they navigate a challenging stretch without their star quarterback.
