Los Angeles Rams Sign Former Lions Wide Receiver
The Los Angeles Rams have signed veteran wide receiver Quintez Cephus to their practice squad, addressing critical depth issues in their receiving corps due to injuries.
Star receiver Cooper Kupp is sidelined on the injured reserve with a left ankle sprain, while rookie Puka Nacua has also been placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, leaving the Rams short on playmakers as they prepare for a tough Week 3 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
Cephus, 26, offers depth and could be called upon if further injuries arise or the Rams’ offensive struggles persist.

Cephus began his NFL career as a fifth-round pick of the Detroit Lions in the 2020 NFL Draft, where he showed early promise with 20 receptions for 349 yards and two touchdowns in his rookie season.
Unfortunately, injuries limited his availability in the following years, and his career was further derailed by an indefinite suspension in 2023 for violating the NFL's gambling policy.
After brief stints with the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills earlier this year, Cephus now has an opportunity to revive his career with a Rams team in need of reliable pass-catchers.

In 22 career games, Cephus has totaled 37 receptions for 568 yards and four touchdowns, bringing experience to a Rams receiving corps that also includes Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, and Jordan Whittington.
With Kupp and Nacua set to miss at least four games, Cephus could see playing time if he proves himself in practice.
