NFL Trade Rumors: Ravens & Jets Linked To Trade
Kay suggests that the Jets, facing a contract standoff with edge rusher Haason Reddick, should capitalize on the situation by trading him to the Ravens.
Reddick, who was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Jets just five months ago, has requested a move after the Jets failed to meet his contract demands.
Despite being one of the NFL's premier pass rushers, with 50.5 sacks over the last four seasons, Reddick's future in New York is uncertain, prompting Kay to propose a trade that could benefit both teams.
Not an encouraging update from @AdamSchefter on the #Jets - Haason Reddick saga:

‘There hasn’t been a lot of progress there’ + ‘talks have completely stalled’ on a new deal for months + ‘a game of chicken’ + ‘right now has no end in sight.’ 😳

The Ravens, who are in dire need of a proven edge rusher following the departure of Jadeveon Clowney, would stand to gain significantly from acquiring Reddick.
With an aging Kyle Van Noy currently their best option on the edge, adding Reddick would provide the Ravens with a dynamic pass-rushing duo alongside interior star Justin Madubuike.
Kay argues that a fourth-round pick would be a fair price for the Jets to recoup some value from their initial investment in Reddick, while the Ravens would enhance their defensive line and bolster their Super Bowl aspirations.
"Hasson Reddick is not playing for $14 million this year. I don't blame him, he shouldn't do it. Nick Bosa makes $32 million a year. Why should Haason Reddick be playing the last year of his deal for less than half of what he's worth?"

However, the trade would require the Ravens to navigate some financial hurdles, as they currently have just over $5 million in cap space. Additionally, with Reddick turning 30 in September, Baltimore would need to weigh the long-term implications of committing both draft assets and cap space to secure his services.
Nonetheless, if the Ravens are willing to meet Reddick's contract demands, Kay believes this trade could be the key to strengthening their pass rush and making a deep playoff run.
