Baltimore Ravens Sign 5-Year Veteran Wide Receiver

The Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their wide receiver corps by signing veteran Russell Gage, adding depth and experience to their roster ahead of the new season.

Gage, 28, missed the entire previous season due to a torn patellar tendon suffered during training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Despite this, Gage has a proven track record in the NFL, amassing 244 receptions for 2,491 yards and 14 touchdowns over five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and Buccaneers.

His standout season came in 2020 with the Falcons, where he notched 72 catches for 786 yards and four touchdowns.

Gage's arrival is timely for the Ravens, particularly following the recent rib injury of wide receiver Rashod Bateman during a touchdown catch in practice.

While head coach John Harbaugh assured that Bateman's injury is not long-term, Gage's addition provides immediate reinforcement.

He joins a receiving group that includes Zay Flowers, Nelson Agholor, Tylan Wallace, and Deonte Harty, adding depth and competition to the rotation.

Harbaugh expressed optimism about Gage's arrival, emphasizing his reliable hands, route-running skills, and overall experience as significant assets to the team's offensive strategy.

With the opportunity to catch passes from star quarterback Lamar Jackson, Gage is positioned to make a meaningful impact in Baltimore.

The prospect of reuniting with his former team in Week 7, when the Ravens face the Buccaneers on Monday Night Football, adds an intriguing storyline to Gage's signing.
