The Vikings took Jackson 108th overall this past April after an extensive amateur career that included stops with Oregon, Alabama, East Mississippi Community College, and Fort Scott. At 24 years old, he finally emerged as a starter for the Ducks in 2023, nabbing three interceptions and breaking up seven passes.
At 6'4" with impressive speed (4.50 40-yard dash) and explosiveness (36.5 vertical jump), Jackson was a notable physical specimen with all the tools necessary to be a better pro than college player. It took him longer than many young players to flourish, but he demonstrated a significant commitment to the game, enduring a circuitous, extended path to the NFL. After a long, hard road, his best years were very likely ahead of him.
Jackson will be missed by his family, loved ones, and a Vikings organization that had a tragically brief time to get to know him.
