NFL Rumors: Kyle Juszczyk "Unhappy" With The 49ers

San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk recently revealed the emotional impact of being asked to take a pay cut to help the team manage their salary cap.

In an interview with Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, Juszczyk shared his initial reaction to the request from general manager John Lynch. "Honestly, it hurt," he admitted. "When John came to me and asked, I wasn't necessarily expecting it, and I think it's natural for anybody that it kind of hurts your ego. It hurts your heart a little bit. I do understand that it's a business, but I do feel like I'm as valuable as what I was expected to get paid."

Despite the initial sting and feeling undervalued, Juszczyk ultimately agreed to restructure his contract, saving the team $1.75 million in cap space.

His new deal, a two-year, $9.1 million contract, helped the 49ers financially while maintaining his status as the highest-paid fullback in the league.

Juszczyk emphasized his commitment to the team and his deep connection to the 49ers, stating, "At the end of the day, though, I really, truly, wanted to be a Niner. This is where I wanted to be. I absolutely love it here. I still love John and Kyle, I still have great relationships with them."

Last season, the 33-year-old recorded 14 receptions on 17 targets for 119 yards and two touchdowns across 17 games played.
