Insider: Davante Adams Trade To AFC East Team Is A "Done Deal"

The speculation surrounding Davante Adams joining the New York Jets reached new heights when insider Dan Orlovsky suggested that the deal is essentially done. 

On Tuesday's episode of "Get Up," Orlovsky confidently stated that the much-anticipated reunion between Adams and his former quarterback Aaron Rodgers is on the verge of happening. 

This statement electrified Jets fans and sports analysts alike, including Jets superfan Mike Greenberg, who could hardly contain his excitement.

Orlovsky pointed to Adams' visible frustration with the Las Vegas Raiders, highlighted in Netflix's "Receiver" docuseries, where Adams admitted to endorsing the benching of Jimmy Garoppolo last season. 

He emphasized that the Jets' all-in approach and Rodgers' recruitment efforts make this move almost inevitable.

Orlovsky's comments came after a weekend of mounting rumors and hints. Aaron Rodgers had hinted at the possibility of playing with Adams again, and Adams himself had acknowledged Rodgers' attempts to recruit him to New York in a recent interview. 

Despite the buzz, there has been no official confirmation from key NFL insiders like Adam Schefter or Ian Rapoport.

While Orlovsky's assertion has added considerable momentum to the narrative, it's important to note that no formal negotiations have been publicly reported. 

For now, the excitement remains speculative, hinging on the hope that where there's smoke, there's fire.

Adding Adams to the Jets' roster, which already features Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, a strong running game, and an improved offensive line, could elevate the team to serious Super Bowl contenders. 

Orlovsky argues that the Jets are in a situation similar to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Tom Brady and the Denver Broncos with Peyton Manning, where an aggressive, veteran-focused approach paid off. He believes that failing to secure Adams would mark a significant disappointment for a team with such high aspirations this season.
