Colts Sign Former 1st-Round Pick Wide Receiver

The Indianapolis Colts have bolstered their receiving corps by signing former first-round pick wide receiver Laquon Treadwell.

Standing at 6'2" and weighing 215 pounds, Treadwell was originally selected by the Minnesota Vikings 23rd overall in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Despite his promising college career at Ole Miss, where he overcame a severe leg injury to become a standout player, Treadwell has had a challenging transition to the professional level, having played for several teams including the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks, and most recently, the Baltimore Ravens.

Over his career, Treadwell has accumulated 111 receptions for 1,242 yards and five touchdowns in 81 games, with 24 starts.

Last season, he appeared in five games for the Ravens, securing a single catch for 16 yards.

His experience and veteran presence are expected to provide depth for the Colts throughout training camp and the preseason. With his size and ability to make contested catches, Treadwell aims to make a significant impact in Indianapolis, despite the stiff competition in a solid receiver corps.

To make room for Treadwell, the Colts waived wide receiver Xavier White, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in May 2024.

While White's time with the Colts was brief, his versatility and college production at Texas Tech may offer him opportunities elsewhere in the NFL.
