Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver Rashee Rice Wanted by Dallas Police
A crucial player for the Super Bowl champs could be in hot water. According to Kelli Smith of the Dallas Morning News, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is suspected by Dallas Police to be connected to a "major" six-vehicle crash in Dallas Saturday evening.

Per Smith, a Lamborghini and Corvette were speeding on a Dallas highway and lost control, causing a chain reaction of collisions that involved four other cars. The Corvette was registered to Rice and he is suspected to be the driver. The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette allegedly left the scene without sharing information or checking for injuries. Two drivers were treated for injuries at the crash site, while two other people were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The facts of the crash and the degree to which Rice is involved are not yet totally clear. His side of the story will emerge in time. It is not known whether he will face charges.
Rice was a rookie revelation for the Super Bowl champions in 2023, leading all Chiefs wide receivers in receptions (79), receiving yards (938), and receiving touchdowns (7). He is without question one of their most valuable young players, and his progress as a pass catcher is their best hope for improving on a relatively middling offensive performance through the 2023 regular season (21.8 points per game, 15th in the league). Any impediment to his availability or development would be an absolute disaster for the Chiefs and may even necessitate a drastic trade or free-agent acquisition.
Stay tuned.
