Garrett told reporters he heard "something pop" in his shoulder during the game and could be seen wearing a sling in the locker room. He logged two tackles and a pass deflection on the afternoon.
Garrett has been an absolute force for a dominant Browns defense this year. Entering today, his 13.0 sacks were the most in the league, and his 93.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus led all edge rushers. That elite production was paying dividends: the Browns allowed a league-best 243.3 yards per game through Week 11.
Losing Garrett for any length of time would be a crushing blow for a 7-4 Browns squad that already lost starting quarterback Deshaun Watson in Week 10. Garrett was well on his way to another first-team All-Pro and was even garnering significant Defensive Player of the Year buzz. He's one of the truly irreplaceable superstars in the league, and his absence could be the difference between excellence and mediocrity for the Browns' defense as they push for the playoffs.
Garrett will undergo an MRI tomorrow to gauge the severity of his injury. The Browns visit the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13.
