Report: Minnesota Vikings Star Won't Sign An Extension Before The 2023 Season
The Minnesota Vikings have built one of the strongest teams in the entire NFC, but even with that depth and talent, their success in the playoffs relies on their biggest star Justin Jefferson, who has quickly become the best wide receiver in the entire NFL.
At this point, he's very likely to become the highest paid wide receiver in NFL history, whether that be with Minnesota or as he hits the free agent market, but whatever happens, it's now been confirmed by ESPN's Adam Schefter that a deal won't be signed before the season begins.
That report reveals that Jefferson and the Vikings will resume contract extension talks at the conclusion of the season, and if he can have another incredible campaign in 2023, there's no doubting that Minnesota will want to get a deal done, as Jefferson could become one of, if not the best player in franchise history.Vikings’ All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson is not expected to sign a contract extension before Sunday’s opener, per sources. Both sides made a strong effort to get a deal done, but the plan now is to revisit after the season.
