BREAKING: Dallas Cowboys Acquire Talented Young Quarterback
The San Francisco 49ers have been wrestling with the disappointment of the Trey Lance trade all summer long, attempting to move him for weeks now, and on Friday, they officially found their trade partner in the Dallas Cowboys.
After drafting Lance with the No. 3 overall pick back in the 2021 NFL Draft, the talented young Quarterback was passed over by rookie Brock Purdy a season ago, and with Sam Darnold taking the backup spot this season, it was clear that Lance was no longer in their plans.
Now, the Cowboys are sending a mid-round draft pick back to San Francisco, and now have themselves solid insurance for Dak Prescott if an injury or dreadful form strikes, so while it's a steal for the Cowboys, it's no doubt a poor return for the 49ers after all they gave up to land Lance.Trade: 49ers are sending their former No. 3 overall pick Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys for a mid-round, per sources.
