NFL Rumors: Washington Commanders Could Be Seeing Yet Another Name Change
The Washington Commanders, after years of being under the rule of Dan Snyder are finally free, with Josh Harris officially taking over ownership of the team, and now, it appears they could be headed for yet another name change.
After spending the majority of their history as the Washington Redskins, the team officially made the change to Washington Football Team, before ultimately ending on the Washington Commanders for the past two seasons, but now, Harris has made it clear that he's very open to another change.
While some have suggested a return to the Redskins name, the report also states that a 'complete re-branding' is on the way, so after three name changes in the past five years, it looks like one final one is on the way. There’s a ‘pretty good chance’ the new ownership of the Washington Commanders will change the franchise name and have a ‘complete re-branding’ of the team, per @DVNJr
