Dallas Cowboys Release Former First-Round Pick
The Dallas Cowboys are heading into the 2023 season with a mountain of expectations on their shoulders, and with a talented defence and a potentially great offence, they appear to finally have a team that's capable of going on a very deep playoff run.
Surprisingly, on Friday, the team decided to move on from veteran defensive end Takkarist McKinley, who was formerly a first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons, this despite the fact that he signed a one-year deal with the team back in March.
Over his six-year career, McKinley has appeared in 64 games at the NFL level, starting 27 of those, and over that time, he's accumulated 98 tackles, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 2 passes deflected and 20 sacks, and it's very likely that he could find himself another NFL home for the 2023-24 season.Update: #Cowboys have officially released former #Falcons 1st round pick DE Takk McKinley. pic.twitter.com/nb4MHrjCkW
