Breaking: Indianapolis Colts Cut Cornerback After Latest Betting Scandal
The NFL has seeming been overrun with betting scandals lately, and even after a year long suspension to wide receiver Calvin Ridley a year ago, there are still players partaking in betting on NFL games, and on Thursday, the punishment came down hard, particularly on the Indianapolis Colts.
Now, the league has suspended cornerback Isaiah Rodgers indefinitely, with the Colts following up this news by releasing the young cornerback after it was revealed that he was not only betting on NFL games, but betting on his own squad.
In two years at the NFL level, Rodgers has shown some promise, but hasn't yet broken out in the way the team would have hoped, and now that he is done for at least the next season, it's tough to see just how he fits back into the NFL fold when his suspension is done. The #Colts have cut both Rodgers and Berry, with this statement from GM Chris Ballard. https://t.co/llVQdJnoMT pic.twitter.com/BP7MGlQjOs
