Former New York Jets Running Back Reveals Why He Was Cut
A few months ago, surprising news came from the New York Jets as they released young running back Ty Johnson not long after he signed a one-year deal with the team, and throughout the confusion, Johnson himself has now given us some clarity.
Johnson has now revealed that he suffered a torn pectoral muscle while working out, with the team telling him to get it fixed, and the day after having surgery, the team officially released him, which was no doubt tough on the 25-year old.
Given the Jets depth at running back with Breece Hall, Zonovan Knight, Michael Carter and Izrael Abanikanda, it's unlikely that Johnson was going to make the roster anyway, but the timing of this leaves plenty to be desired, and you can't help but feel for him.Update: RB Ty Johnson, formerly of the #Jets, suffered a Torn Pec injury while working out. He says the team told him to "Fix it" but cut him the next day after he did.
