Carolina Panthers Have Veteran QB Starting To Begin The Season
The Carolina Panthers gave the Chicago Bears a haul to move up to the No. 1 overall spot in the 2023 NFL Draft, and with that selection, the team took standout Quarterback Bryce Young from the University of Alabama, who is expected to be a starter for them in Week 1.
That's the expectation from the outside, but when asked about his development today, General Manager Scott Fitterer told reporters that it was Andy Dalton who will begin the season as a starter, and Young will take over "when he's ready".
Obviously Young is the Quarterback of the future in Carolina, and given what they gave up to get him, the expectation is that he will be a starter in the 2023 season, but for now, it makes complete sense not to rush him into the role, especially with a veteran like Dalton on the roster.Update: #Panthers announce that Andy Dalton is their starter right now "heading into the season", according to GM Scott Fitterer
