BREAKING: Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Veteran Kicker; Release Young Kicker

Recently released kicker from the Denver Broncos, Brandon McManus, has wasted no time finding a new team.

Just two days after parting ways with the Broncos, McManus has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This move comes after a season in which McManus experienced a decline in performance. Having spent nine years with the Broncos and playing in the majority of regular-season games during his tenure, McManus now begins a new chapter in his career with the Jaguars.

The Jags have also released 23-year-old kicker Riley Patterson.

His signing provides the Jaguars with an experienced and established kicker, adding depth to their special teams unit.

During the 2022 season, McManus struggled slightly, converting 28 out of 36 field goal attempts, marking his lowest field goal percentage since 2017. He also made 25 out of 27 extra-point attempts.

While his career field goal success rate of 81.4 percent may not meet modern standards, it's important to consider that a significant portion of his attempts were from long distances due to his strong leg and the high altitude in Denver.

In fact, 26.3 percent of his career field goal attempts have been from 50 yards or more, accounting for 62.7 percent of his misses.

With his strong leg and previous success, McManus will look to make an impact for the Jaguars in the upcoming season. Photo Credit: Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports
