Philadelphia Eagles Acquire Star Running Back
The Philadelphia Eagles have made some interesting moves this off-season just weeks removed from a Super Bowl appearance, and after a fantastic first-round of the 2023 NFL Draft in which they landed Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith, they've now gone out and landed a key player in a position of need.
Yesterday, whispers began emerging that the Detroit Lions were potentially taking calls on running back D'Andre Swift following the move to get Jahmyr Gibbs, and today, the Eagles officially traded for Swift, sending Detroit a 2025 fourth-round pick and a seventh round pick in this draft.
Despite his production over the past few years, Swift has dealt with some injury problems, but after Miles Sanders left in free agency, this was a position of need for Philadelphia, and they've perhaps landed a big time star if Swift can stay healthy behind this elite offensive line.A major trade to shake up the NFL Draft: The #Eagles trade for #Lions RB D'Andre Swift, filling a huge need with a productive player. pic.twitter.com/yyWQOLNutE
