Williams was drafted in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots but had limited playing time in their secondary prior to his injury.
He played in 36 games during his time with the Patriots, seeing action in 552 defensive snaps since entering the league.

Comes from NE. A lot of what Flores will run here expected to be the same, so picked MN over a couple others due to comfort with system.pic.twitter.com/GtmrdunCxd
Despite his limited starting experience, the Vikings are giving Williams a second chance to prove himself and revive his NFL career. With his injury behind him, Williams is now healthy and ready to contribute to the Vikings' defense.
In total, over his three-year career, the 25-year-old has amassed 44 total tackles and eight passes defended across 36 games played. Photo Credit: Brian Fluharty-USA TODAY Sports
