Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Defensive Tackle To 3-Year Deal After Career Year

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed their defensive lineman, DaVon Hamilton, to a three-year contract extension worth $34 million, with $23 million guaranteed.

The deal comes after Hamilton's outstanding performance during the 2022 season, where he recorded career-highs in tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, and fumble recoveries.

He played in all 17 games, with 610 defensive snaps, making him a dependable player on the interior of the defensive line.

In total, over his three-year career, the 26-year-old has amassed 132 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble, three fumble recoveries, and four passes defended across 44 games played.

Hamilton, a third-round draft pick in 2020, was in the final year of his rookie contract.

His consistency and potential for continued improvement make him a valuable asset for the Jaguars, who are investing in young talent for the future.

The team's decision to extend Hamilton's contract demonstrates their appreciation for his contributions and their commitment to building a strong defense.
