Former NFL MVP Willing To Play Backup Role To Return To The League
Over the past few weeks, former Carolina Panthers Quarterback and NFL MVP Cam Newton has made his intention to return to the NFL clear, and after throwing at Auburn's Pro Day, it looks like there's some teams out there that may be willing to give him a shot.
Surprisingly though, after saying "there ain't 32 guys better than me" a few weeks ago, Newton has now changed his tone and listed a number of players he's willing to backup, including the likes of Justin Fields, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Aaron Rodgers and many others.
While Newton still has a role to play in the NFL, it's become more and more clear that he isn't capable of being a Week 1 starter, but if a team wants a veteran backup that can run the ball and bring a presence to the locker room, Newton is certainly a solid option.Update: Cam Newton says he's willing to be a backup in the NFL.
