BREAKING: Detroit Lions First-Round Pick Wide Receiver Suspended
On Friday, the NFL announced, now official, that five players had been suspended for violating the league's gambling policy.
Jameson Williams, a talented young wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, was the headliner of the group suspended, along with his teammate Stanley Berryhill, and three other players.

Williams and Berryhill were suspended for six games for betting on non-NFL games from team facilities, while the other players received indefinite suspensions.
This news is a setback for Williams, who was expected to have a breakout season after recovering from an ACL injury that limited his playing time in his rookie year.
The suspension means that he will miss the first six games of the upcoming season.
The unfortunate news is that Williams wasn't even suspended for betting on NFL games, but because of the location he was in when he placed the bet.

The 22-year-old was drafted 12th overall by the Lions in the 2022 NFL Draft. In his first six games, he recorded one reception for 41 yards and a touchdown on nine targets.
