NFL Rumors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Running Back Asked To Be Released
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have enjoyed great success in recent times with the greatest Quarterback to ever play in the NFL, but now that he's gone, they find themselves looking towards a new era, and unfortunately, they were $55M over the salary cap to begin that era.
Yesterday, they made two solid moves to rectify that, as they released both veteran running back Leonard Fournette and left tackle Donovan Smith, and now, it has been revealed that Fournette actually asked for his release, meaning that there's no bad blood between these two parties.
At just 28-years of age, Fournette still has plenty of gas left in the tank, so it's very likely he can find a spot on a team ready to contend, but after a successful three year stint in Tampa Bay, his time with the team has officially come to an end.Update: Leonard Fournette asked to be released from the #Bucs, according to @NFLSTROUD
